A market-leading hospitality and leisure group is looking for an experienced Senior Area Surveyor to join its high-performing Property Estates team. Managing a diverse portfolio of 60–75 premium pubs and hotels, you’ll take full ownership of maintenance, investment, and refurbishment projects — from essential repairs to complex redevelopments exceeding £2m.
This is a field-based, autonomous role covering London and the Southern Home Counties. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors to ensure sites remain safe, compliant, and operationally excellent.
What You’ll Be Doing
Conduct site inspections, assess building conditions, and prepare detailed reports
Plan, budget, and manage both reactive maintenance and planned investment works
Lead project delivery from tendering through to completion (projects up to £2m+)
Ensure full legal, statutory, and health & safety compliance across all properties
Work closely with operations, design, compliance, and development teams
Provide advice on planning, listed buildings, party wall matters, and statutory consents
What We’re Looking For
- RICS-qualified (or equivalent experience) with a background in retail, leisure, or hospitality property
- Strong technical knowledge of building services and trade kitchens; experience with listed buildings is a bonus
- Solid commercial awareness and proven project delivery capability
- A self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the region
