Job Title: Regional Building / Property Manager – Scotland
Location: Scotland, Client-Side / Field-Based
Salary: Competitive salary + car allowance + bonus + benefits

 

The Opportunity

A successful and growing out-of-town retail business is looking for a Regional Building / Property Manager to take ownership of a portfolio across Scotland.
This is a genuinely client-side role, giving you responsibility for the condition, maintenance, improvement and capital investment of the estate.
You’ll work closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders, identifying requirements, developing solutions and managing works through to completion. It’s a varied role covering building maintenance, capital projects, refurbishment, compliance and contractor management.

 

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of building condition and maintenance across the Scottish portfolio.
Identify defects, maintenance requirements and opportunities for improvement.
Manage capital projects, refurbishment and significant maintenance works from inception through to completion.
Develop scopes of work, specifications, budgets and programmes.
Manage contractors and consultants, ensuring quality, cost and programme are maintained.
Oversee planned and preventative maintenance programmes.
Provide technical and commercially focused property advice to the business.
Manage budgets and report on expenditure and future requirements.
Ensure projects and property works comply with relevant Scottish building regulations, legislation and statutory requirements.
Build strong relationships with operational teams, contractors and key stakeholders.

 

About You

You could be a Building Surveyor, Property Surveyor, Property Manager, Maintenance Surveyor or Project Manager with strong technical knowledge and experience working across a commercial property portfolio.
You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience managing buildings, maintenance or projects within a commercial property environment.
  • Good knowledge of building fabric, defects and refurbishment.
  • A sound understanding of Scottish building regulations and relevant Scottish property legislation.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants and budgets.
  • Good understanding of CDM, health & safety and building compliance.
  • Strong organisational and commercial skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to take ownership.
  • A full UK driving licence.

MRICS or MCIOB is advantageous but not essential. Support and development towards achieving MRICS or MCIOB will be available for the right individual.
