My client is one of the most recognised names in global financial services and data. Operating across more than 170 countries, they sit at the centre of the world’s financial markets — and their procurement and supplier management function operates at a scale and standard to match.
They are now looking to appoint a Head of Supplier Management with a focused ESG remit. This is a newly elevated role, reflecting the growing strategic importance of responsible sourcing, supplier sustainability, and regulatory compliance across a global supply base.
The Role
Reporting into senior procurement leadership, you will be responsible for designing and embedding a best-in-class ESG supplier management framework across a complex, multi-region supplier landscape. This is not a compliance function sitting at the edge of procurement — it is a strategic leadership role with genuine enterprise-wide influence.
Your remit will span:
- Developing and executing the ESG supplier strategy, aligned to the organisation’s broader sustainability commitments and regulatory obligations including CSDDD and Scope 3 emissions targets
- Owning the supplier ESG assessment, onboarding, and continuous monitoring framework, including risk tiering, due diligence, and corrective action management
- Driving supplier engagement and capability development programmes, moving suppliers from compliance to genuine partnership on sustainability
- Leading cross-functional collaboration across Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance to embed ESG into sourcing decisions and commercial frameworks
- Building and presenting clear ESG supplier performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting for senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Staying ahead of the evolving regulatory landscape and translating requirements into practical, scalable supplier management processes
The Person
You will bring proven experience in senior supplier management or responsible sourcing, ideally gained within financial services, professional services, or another highly regulated global environment. You will be as comfortable presenting to the C-suite as you are working through the operational detail of a supplier assessment framework.
Specifically, you will offer:
- Deep knowledge of ESG frameworks, supplier sustainability standards, and the regulatory landscape across key jurisdictions (EU CSDDD, UK Modern Slavery Act, SFDR, and beyond)
- A track record of building and scaling supplier ESG programmes in complex, matrixed organisations
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence without authority at senior levels
- Experience with supplier risk platforms and ESG data tools (EcoVadis, Sedex, or similar)
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the confidence to challenge and the credibility to lead
