Job Title: Financial Controller

PSD are working with a leading global architectural proactive and they are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their growing practice.
In this role you’ll strengthen liquidity, governance, and performance visibility across the UK and US network, while partnering with project leaders to shape and safeguard the economics behind exceptional built environments.
You will oversee core finance functions for their London office whilst driving project finance leadership across the practice ensuring financial rigour, profitable delivery, and operational consistency across a multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction portfolio. This is a highly collaborative leadership role where you’ll be working with the Founders and the Managing Directors of the business.,
What you’ll be doing:
Day to Day Finance
- Treasury, liquidity, and cash flow planning aligned to project billing cycles
- Multi-entity sales invoicing, credit control, debtor management and invoice scheduling
- Accounts payable oversight including payments, supplier onboarding and contractual fee tracking
- VAT compliance across UK, and Ireland, plus audit and regulatory readiness
- Budget ownership for the London office, including income and profit target planning
Project Finance & Operations (Practice-wide)
- Lead monthly project finance reviews with project leaders
- Build and maintain budgets, billing schedules, margin targets and WIP tracking in Rapport 3
- Monitor sub-consultant costs vs progress, negotiate fee variations and track additional services
- Deliver clear, data-driven reporting to leadership using Rapport and Power BI
- Support project scope documentation, fee/resource scheduling and change control processes
Key Skills required for this role will include:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Proven project or operational finance experience
- Working knowledge in project-led environments, managing budgets, fee structures and WIP
- Exposure to professional services, or architecture industries a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and IT systems confidence – ideally Rapport 3, Sage or Oracle
- Be a clear communicator at all levels
