Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Client Side
Salary: Six-Figure Package + Benefits
Location: London
PSD has been exclusively instructed by a leading property owner, investor and developer to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its in-house property and development team.
This is a senior client-side appointment with responsibility for the delivery of a significant programme of construction and building remediation works across a major London estate, alongside wider capital projects within the company’s existing portfolio.
The role would particularly suit an experienced Project Manager from a leading project management consultancy who is looking to move client-side, or someone already operating within a major property developer, investor or asset owner.
The Role
The Senior Project Manager will act as a key client representative, taking responsibility for the management and delivery of complex construction projects from inception through to completion.
A major initial focus will be the delivery of an extensive programme of building safety, fire and façade remediation works across a large-scale development.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and specialist advisers, responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design, procurement and delivery of major remediation and capital works projects
- Managing external project managers, consultants, contractors and specialist advisers
- Procuring and coordinating surveys, investigations and technical workstreams
- Providing senior-level construction, procurement and development expertise to the wider business
- Managing project programmes, budgets, risk and commercial performance
- Overseeing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
- Ensuring appropriate governance, reporting and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Managing refurbishment, fit-out and other capital projects across the wider portfolio
- Representing the client in key project, consultant and contractor meetings
The Candidate
We are looking for an accomplished construction professional with approximately 15–20 years’ industry experience and a strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects.
Candidates should ideally have gained experience within a leading project management consultancy, major property developer, investor or similar client-side organisation.
Experience across residential, commercial or mixed-use development would be particularly relevant.
The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Degree qualification – essential
- MRICS and/or MCIOB – desirable
- Approximately 15–20 years’ relevant construction/project management experience
- Strong experience delivering major construction projects
- Experience gained within a leading project management consultancy, developer or sophisticated client-side environment
- Excellent knowledge of construction procurement and contractual processes
- Strong commercial and financial management capability
- Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams
- The ability to operate effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills
- The ability to manage several complex project streams simultaneously
Previous experience of building safety, façade, cladding or fire remediation projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Senior Project Manager to take on a high-profile client-side position with significant responsibility and visibility.
The successful candidate will initially play a key role in delivering one of the organisation’s most important capital programmes, while also gaining exposure to a broader range of projects across an extensive property portfolio.
For somebody currently working within a leading project management consultancy, this represents an opportunity to move client-side, take greater ownership of key decisions and work directly with a highly experienced property team.
