Programme Manager – Technology Transformation (2 year FTC)
Our client is an established transport-sector organisation currently seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead a large, complex, multi‑year technology transformation programme. This strategic role requires end‑to‑end leadership of a diverse portfolio of interdependent projects, ensuring that governance, delivery structures and reporting mechanisms are robust, transparent and aligned to organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping programme strategy, coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing senior stakeholders, ensuring high‑quality delivery, and driving consistent progress across a challenging technology landscape. This is a unique opportunity to influence long‑term operational and digital capabilities across a major, nationally important organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and embed programme frameworks, governance models and reporting cycles.
- Lead programme planning and ensure alignment across multiple interdependent projects.
- Oversee delivery quality across project managers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Manage risks, dependencies and cross‑programme interlocks.
- Engage senior stakeholders across a complex, multi‑agency environment.
- Drive change‑management approaches and long‑term benefits adoption.
- Oversee supplier relationships and commercial performance management.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Strong track record leading large‑scale technology transformation programmes.
- Experience in federated or multi‑agency environments.
- Strong governance, dependency management and risk expertise.
- Experience of manging multiple technology vendors
- Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and communication skills including at Exec level.
- Experience managing multiple delivery teams and suppliers.
- Knowledge of transport or similar sectors (desirable).
This is a fixed term contract for the duration of the programme which is likely to be a minimum of 2 years. The role will be based in London with ideally 4 days per week working with the programme team. Candidates will need to be available to start in the next 4 weeks.
