Enterprise Architect / Programme Architect– Technology Transformation Programme (2 year FTC)
A major UK organisation in the transport sector is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect / Programme Architect to support a large, complex technology transformation programme. This role will shape the architecture across multiple projects, define system interconnections, oversee data flows, and ensure seamless integration of new and existing enterprise systems.
The Programme Architect will work closely with System Integrator (SI) architects, delivery teams and business stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment, technical quality and long‑term operational value. This is a high‑impact role suited to someone who enjoys complex systems thinking and influencing design at an enterprise level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the overarching architecture blueprint for the programme.
- Define system interconnections and data flows across key business applications.
- Ensure alignment across projects, identifying risks, dependencies and integration requirements.
- Collaborate with SI architects to ensure designs meet enterprise standards.
- Challenge and assure SI technical designs to ensure security, quality and scalability.
- Provide enterprise and solution architecture leadership across the programme.
- Oversee integration of new solutions into the existing technology landscape.
- Support governance forums, design reviews and architectural assurance.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Experience shaping architecture for complex transformation programmes.
- Enterprise architecture expertise with prior solution architecture experience.
- Strong understanding of system integration patterns and interoperability.
- Ability to challenge and collaborate with System Integrator architects.
- Experience designing solutions across HR, payroll, operations and enterprise systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills.
- Knowledge of Boomi as an integration tool would be beneficial.
This is a fixed term contract for the duration of the programme which is likely to be a minimum of 2 years. The role will be based in London with ideally 4 days per week working with the programme team. Candidates will need to be available to start in the next 4 weeks. You will need to be authorised to work in the UK.
