The Opportunity
A well-established independent construction and property advisory firm is seeking to appoint a Head of Cost Consultancy to join its senior leadership group.
The practice has built a strong reputation across the built environment through delivering high-quality technical advice and maintaining long-standing relationships with both private and institutional clients.
This is a senior, client-facing leadership role offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence the continued growth of a successful cost consultancy team.
The successful candidate will oversee a range of projects across multiple sectors while helping to shape the strategic direction of the division.
The Role
You will lead the delivery of cost management services across projects from early feasibility through to project completion, while supporting the growth and development of the consultancy’s cost advisory capability.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading cost consultancy services across a range of development projects
- Providing strategic commercial advice to clients from feasibility through to completion
- Managing project teams and overseeing the delivery of multiple commissions
- Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the cost consultancy team
- Contributing to the overall growth strategy of the division
The role combines technical delivery, leadership and client engagement, providing the opportunity to take a key role within an expanding consultancy environment.
Candidate Profile
We are interested in speaking with experienced Quantity Surveying professionals currently operating at Associate Director / Senior Associate level or equivalent within a consultancy environment.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong consultancy background within cost management or quantity surveying
- Experience delivering residential-led projects including private residential, affordable housing, Build-to-Rent, later living and mixed-use developments
- Exposure to additional sectors such as commercial, leisure or healthcare projects
- Excellent technical knowledge covering cost planning, procurement, contract administration and final accounts
- Good understanding of UK construction contracts and procurement strategies
- Proven experience managing teams and delivering projects for clients
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills

Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- MRICS / FRICS qualified
- Experience working within a construction or property consultancy environment
