Head of Commercial Finance

Workstyle: Onsite 5 Days Per Week

PSD Group are proud to be partnering with a high-growth FMCG business, recognised as a market leader within its category. As the company continues to grow, acquire and scale, they are now seeking a Head of Commercial Finance to lead their FP&A and Commercial finance agenda and influence decision-making at the highest level.
This is a pivotal, high-impact role positioned at the centre of strategic financial leadership, where you’ll be working with the senior stakeholders on a daily basis.
You will be working closely with the senior management team to drive profitable growth, shape new commercial ventures, improve trading performance, and develop a best-in-class commercial finance function.
The successful candidate will be both a hands-on operator and a strategic thinker, able to challenge, influence and partner across the business.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Act as a trusted Business Partner to senior commercial leaders – shaping strategic plans and supporting growth initiatives
- Own all commercial performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting, delivering clear and actionable insights to the board
- Identify risks, opportunities and margin drivers early, ensuring strong performance management and value creation
- Lead analysis across pricing, promotions, supplier terms and customer investment to optimise profitability
- Build, lead and inspire a high-performing Commercial Finance team, developing strong Business Partnering capabilities
- Challenge existing processes and systems, identifying improvements that strengthen reporting, visibility and decision-making
Your Key Experience & Skills Required:
- Be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Have a proven track record in Financial Planning & Analysis or Commercial Finance within Wholesale, Retail, FMCG or Manufacturing
- Strong P&L ownership experience with the ability to translate data into commercial action
- Highly skilled at influencing senior non-finance stakeholders and shaping strategic decisions
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop and elevate team capability
- Proactive, resilient, comfortable working at pace and confident operating in a fast-moving, trading-led environment
