The Opportunity

A well capitalised private property investment and development business is looking to appoint a Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor into its London team.

The business manages a significant national property portfolio and is actively involved in development, asset optimisation and strategic disposals across both residential and commercial property.

This role sits within a specialist development and disposals team responsible for unlocking value across the portfolio through planning strategy, development activity, asset repositioning and sales.

You will work alongside experienced property professionals on projects ranging from individual asset disposals through to complex development opportunities and joint venture projects.

The Role

Working closely with senior members of the commercial team, the successful candidate will support the delivery of development and disposal initiatives across the portfolio.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Supporting commercial strategy across development and disposal projects
• Managing consultant teams involved in demolition, enabling and technical works
• Supporting procurement of professional teams required for development and disposal projects
• Contributing to development appraisals and project viability assessments
• Providing construction and technical input to asset disposal strategies
• Assisting with the management of external contractors and consultants
• Supporting investment committee reporting and project presentations to senior stakeholders
• Maintaining cost intelligence and market benchmarking information

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with individuals who demonstrate:

• Experience within construction consultancy, contractor or client-side environments
• Strong commercial awareness and an interest in development-led projects
• Good working knowledge of construction contracts (JCT or similar)
• Strong Excel capability and comfort analysing financial or development data
• Understanding of development viability and project cashflows
• Knowledge of UK property markets and development processes
• Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
• MRICS qualification
